Description
We are looking for a dedicated Systems
Administrator / Control Room Systems Operator to ensure smooth and secure
operations of our IT infrastructure in support of mission-critical functions.
The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our network
systems, hardware, and software to ensure uninterrupted service and data
security. This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical
skills, particularly in database management and network administration, who
thrives in a high-activity control room environment.
Requirements
- Educational
Background:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Information Technology, Business & IT, or Computer Engineering.
- Certification: Certified Network Associate (or
equivalent) qualification is required.
- Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on
experience in network administration or systems integration within a busy
database management environment.
- Technical
Knowledge:
Proficient in enterprise databases, network security, and various computer
applications.
- Compliance: Must meet the requirements of
Chapter Six of the Constitution, with a demonstrated commitment to high
ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Systems
Operations Management:
Oversee and manage daily systems operations to ensure continuous weighing
and data capture activities.
- Data
Backup and Recovery:
Perform routine data backups and maintain recovery protocols to ensure
data availability and integrity.
- Installation
& Configuration:
Install and configure software, hardware, and network devices to support
operations.
- Performance
Monitoring:
Regularly monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement
solutions for optimized performance.
- Security
& Efficiency:
Maintain the security of the IT infrastructure by ensuring antivirus
software, Windows licenses, and network security systems are updated and
functioning effectively on all servers and desktops.
- System
Monitoring & Maintenance:
Conduct systems installation, monitor for faults, and ensure systems
availability throughout operational cycles.
- Preventive
Maintenance:
Schedule and perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance for
all IT systems, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Operational
Support: Provide
technical support to the operations teams during working hours, diagnosing
and resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
- Data
Management: Ensure
uninterrupted data capture, secure storage, archiving, and timely
dissemination of information.
- User
Training & Supervision:
Supervise systems users and conduct training sessions to enhance their
operational proficiency.
