Medical Laboratory Mentors will be responsible for offering technical support on Laboratory systems strengthening, and capacity building support to ensure implementation of Laboratory Continuous Quality (L-CQI) to facilities at Sub-County level. 

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

• Certificate of registration from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists & Technicians 
Board 


• Registration with Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technicians Board

• Current Membership/Practicing License from the KMLTTB 


i. In liaison with Sub-County Medical Laboratory Coordinator (SCMLC) and HIV project teams to ensure implementation of policy guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manuals for medical laboratories at facility level.

ii. Provide on-site mentorship and on-job-training to the project supported medical laboratories.

iii. Strengthen laboratory commodity management at facility level.

iv. Provide technical support in integrated sample networking: CD4, Viral Load, and Sputum for GeneXpert.

v. Provide mentorship to Fahari ya Jamii supported laboratories to implement L–CQI, including RT-CQI.

vi. Ensure implementation of laboratory quality control and assurance for laboratory testing.

vii. Strengthen documentation of laboratory services at facility level.

viii. Support facility-level commodity quantification and forecasting.

ix. Perform facility support supervision and mentorship in liaison with Sub-County Medical Laboratory Technologists. (SCMLT). 

x. Participate in program review meetings, monitoring performance and preparation of progress reports.
