Description
Our Client, a leading Group of Schools in Rongai, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Snr Human Resource Officer to oversee and manage the full spectrum of HR functions across the group of schools. The HR Manager will ensure the implementation of effective people management strategies, promote a positive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with labor laws and school policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Must be a registered and certified member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya.
- Must be a CHRP-K.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably with at least 2 years in the education sector or a similar institution.
- Strong knowledge of the Kenyan Employment Act, labor laws, and HR best practices.
- Proven experience in handling multi-site HR operations is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for teaching, administrative, and support staff.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction programs to integrate new hires effectively.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for staff concerns and grievances.
- Promote a positive working environment, ensuring fair treatment and adherence to disciplinary procedures.
- Organize employee welfare programs, events, and engagement initiatives.
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems aligned to school objectives.
- Support managers in setting clear KPIs and performance improvement plans.
- Drive a culture of accountability, recognition, and professional growth.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and manuals in line with Kenyan labor laws and best practices.
- Ensure staff contracts, records, and documentation are up-to-date and securely maintained.
- Advise management on compliance and risk management matters.
- Identify staff training needs and coordinate continuous professional development (CPD) programs.
- Facilitate leadership development and skills enhancement initiatives for both academic and non-academic staff.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Manage staff benefits administration, including medical schemes, pension (where applicable), and leave tracking.
- Maintain HR metrics and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on recruitment, turnover, disciplinary cases, training, and other HR KPIs.
