Description

The Project Manager at Captivate Africa is responsible for leading all stages of event planning, execution, and post-event analysis. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role involves managing budgets, timelines, and vendors while supervising internal teams and contractors to ensure events are delivered according to the client's vision. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between the client and internal departments, maintaining high service standards and ensuring financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3+ years of project management experience specifically within the events industry.     
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.      
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in event management tools such as Asana or Trello.        
  • Attributes: Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances or last-minute adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Financial: Prepare event budgets, monitor expenditures to ensure cost control, and negotiate vendor contracts to optimize value.
  • Client Management: Maintain open communication as the primary point of contact, providing regular updates and conducting post-event evaluations.
  • Operations: Manage end-to-end logistics, including concept creation, venue setup, permits, and transportation.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential execution risks and develop contingency plans while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and licenses.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise internal departments, assign tasks, and manage the hiring and training of brand ambassadors and temporary staff.
  • Reporting: Submit financial reconciliations every Tuesday and deliver weekly internal asset and KPI reports every Monday.
