Description

This job exists to provide support to strengthen preventive and therapeutic nutrition support in disease management in health care facilities and the community, Mainly at Comprehensive Care Clinic (CCCs). The staff will be based at sub counties and designed facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines foods, nutrition and dietetics/clinical nutrition, food science and nutrition or home economics from a recognized institution
  • Registration by Kenya Nutrition and Dietetics Institute (KNDI) and licensed by the same professional body. 

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing strategies to promote NACS at health facilities

  • Providing nutrition services at TB, and /HIV

  • Implementing and reviewing nutrition health care plans (CCCs)

  • Support capacity building to CCCs staffs on NACS.

  • Train HCWs on nutrition HIV

  • Carry out on job Training (OJT)/CME on nutrition HIV/TB at Facility level.

  • Strengthen /train CHVs on nutrition HIV/TB defaulter tracing mechanisms.

  • Assessing nutrition health in health care facilities in the community

  • Coordinating preparations of hospital menus and diets

  • Providing guidelines on supplemental and therapeutic diets for existing and emerging

    diseases for hospital use and other institutions.

  • Providing nutrition support in patient management in health care facilities

  • Facilitating trainings in various training institutions

  • Preparation of reports in health care facilities on nutrition related issues

  • Prescription of dietary requirements for patients
