Description
The Lighting Technician is responsible for designing,
setting up, operating, and maintaining lighting systems for various events
including corporate functions, concerts, weddings, conferences, and
productions. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality lighting that
enhances the atmosphere, visual appeal, and overall success of each event in
alignment with the creative and technical vision.
Requirements
- Degree
     or Diploma in Lighting Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related
     technical field.
- Minimum
     of 4 years’ experience in event lighting, stage lighting, or live
     production.
- Proficiency
     in programming and operating professional lighting control consoles (e.g.,
     MA Lighting, Avolites, Chamsys, or ETC).
- Solid
     understanding of LED fixtures, DMX control systems, and rigging safety
     standards.
- Knowledge
     of power distribution, load management, and electrical safety in event
     environments.
- Ability
     to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong
     interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute lighting plans based on event requirements and creative briefs.
- Set up, rig, focus, and operate lighting fixtures, including dimmers, moving heads, LED units, and control consoles.
- Collaborate with the technical & BD team to ensure seamless integration of lighting with other production elements.
- Conduct pre-event testing, technical rehearsals, and troubleshooting to guarantee optimal performance.
- Operate lighting control systems during live events and productions.
- Ensure lighting setups comply with safety, power, and structural standards.
- Maintain, service, and store lighting equipment to ensure reliability and readiness.
- Supervise and coordinate lighting crew during event setup and teardown.
- Manage inventory of lighting fixtures, accessories, and consumables.
- Stay informed on emerging lighting technologies and recommend enhancements to improve production quality.
