Description
Our client in the hospitality and FMCG industry based in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa is seeking to recruit 3 proactive HR Officers to support their growing team and who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department. This includes recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR compliance, performance management support, and employee welfare programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in a human resources role.
- Membership with a recognized HR professional body (e.g., IHRM) is an added advantage.
- Solid knowledge of Kenyan labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience with dealing with unionized employees.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HR Information Systems (HRIS) is an added advantage.
- Experience working in the hotel and/or bakery industry will be a distinct advantage.
- Must be currently residing in either of the 3 locations or willing to relocate to either.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
- Maintain updated employee records and HR documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws, applicable CBAs and company HR policies.
- Support management in handling employee relations matters, including disciplinary cases and grievance management.
- Administer employee benefits and leave management processes.
- Participate in performance management cycles by tracking appraisals and KPIs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives, systems, and employee engagement programs.
- Organize and coordinate training and development initiatives based on organizational needs.
- Prepare HR reports and updates for management decision-making.
- Foster a positive, productive, and compliant working environment.
