Description
We’re hiring for our client in Kisumu (Hospitality & FMCG industry) a HR Intern who will support the Human Resource Department in day-to-day administrative tasks, recruitment processes, employee engagement, HR documentation, and compliance. The role provides hands-on exposure to HR practices, policies, and systems, preparing the intern for a career in human resources.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR practices (added advantage).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Assist in posting job adverts, shortlisting, and scheduling interviews.
- Support in preparing interview materials and communicating with candidates.
- Participate in the onboarding process, ensuring smooth induction of new employees.
- Maintain and update employee records, both physical and digital.
- Support in managing leave applications, attendance records, and timesheets.
- Assist in drafting HR letters (internship letters, confirmation letters, etc.).
- Support in coordinating HR events, trainings, and wellness activities.
- Help in gathering feedback from employees through surveys or informal check-ins.
- Assist in addressing minor staff queries under supervision.
- Assist in compiling appraisal forms and tracking submission deadlines.
- Support in preparing reports for performance review sessions.
- Ensure employee documentation is complete and compliant with HR policies.
- Assist in updating HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in HR projects as assigned.
- Carry out research on HR best practices to support policy improvement.
