Description

Our client in the NGO sector is seeking a HR & Admin Manager to support an anticipated international donor-funded Inclusive Africa Program (IAP). The IAP is a five-year, multimillion dollar regional initiative that aims to create socio-economic opportunities for young men and women with disabilities in Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana through enhanced digital accessibility. The program's strategic objective is to cultivate an environment that enables young individuals with disabilities to access digital economic opportunities by advancing digital accessibility policy, facilitating stakeholder engagement, driving digital innovation and entrepreneurship, amplifying youth voices, and establishing industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration or its equivalent
  • Professional qualification in Human Resource Management and a member of a recognized HR body
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in general HR management in a fast-paced environment, preferably in NGO sector
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to use the internet to obtain data and reference materials

Skills:

  • Proven ability to plan, organize and prioritize work; ability to remain calm under pressure in difficult circumstances and not lose sight of operational priorities
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, human resources practices and policies
  • High level of knowledge of using HRIS system
  • High level of human resources business acumen with the ability to understand the implications of each transaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong written and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with professional credibility in order to influence and motivate others to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrate high integrity, strong work ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the HR Strategy and core areas of the HR department, including Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Reward and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems
  • Drive the continuous improvement agenda with focus on engagement and welfare activities, maximizing productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers, and building leadership capability
  • Support in strengthening the organizational culture, ensuring that employees live up to and uphold company values.
  • Execute a plan for diversity, equity and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy and commitments
  • Regularly coach, mentor and support managers and high-potential employees to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop and maintain effective relationships and encourage retention
  • Ensure managers are sufficiently skilled and enabled to access appropriate guidance and information to manage workforce issues
  • Ensure compliance with all employment and labor laws in all the countries we operate
  • Advice on a wide range of core human resource functions, including organizational design, HR policies, and any emerging trends and best practices
  • Provide desired metrics to guide talent related-decisions
  • In charge of managing and coordinating the general office administration functions to ensure efficient and effective operations across the business. This includes ensuring periodic repair and maintenance of buildings, fittings, and fixtures
  • Oversee the service delivery of outsourced services to guarantee protection of employees, company assets, and business operations/activities to ensure value for money.
  • Preparation and submission of HR and administration reports as required
