Description
The hospital general manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the hospital, ensuring efficient service delivery that meets the highest standards of healthcare. The role involves strategic planning, resource management, personnel administration, and public relations. The general manager ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and strives to achieve the hospital's financial and operational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience (5 years+) in healthcare administration or a similar management role.
- Strong understanding of hospital operations and financial practices.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Management: Develop and implement strategic plans to improve hospital efficiency, quality of care, and profitability.
- Operations oversight: Manage day-to-day hospital operations, ensuring all departments function harmoniously and efficiently.
- Financial Management: Oversee the hospital budget, financial planning, and financial reporting. Implement cost-control measures and optimise resource allocation.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure the hospital complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. Maintain accreditation standards and continuously improve service quality and safety.
- Staff Management: Lead recruitment, training, and development of staff. Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient workplace environment.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including medical staff, the board of directors, regulatory bodies, and the community.
- Crisis Management: Address and manage any critical issues that affect the hospital’s services or reputation.
- Performance Improvement: Monitor performance metrics and implement initiatives for operational improvement and enhanced patient satisfaction.
