Description

We are looking for an accountant who will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all the accounting activities in the hospital by implementing the hospital’s sustainability initiatives and financial processes and reporting in line with approved policies and standards.

Requirements

  1. Degree in accounting or in a relevant field.
  2. CPA 2 certification.
  3. Experience in a health facility, with 3-5 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate annual and periodic hospital budget development with the hospital manager.
  2. Monitor hospital costs through proactive data review to enhance efficiencies.
  3. Supervise hospital credit management and implementation, including uninsured individuals' credit policies, to minimize bad debt risk.
  4. Oversee daily facility cash and check collections and bank reconciliations.
  5. Ensure timely, error-free submission of claims and invoices to insurance companies or the head office.
  6. Supervise facility stocktake and inventory management with relevant HODs.
  7. Generate performance analysis reports, including revenue and cost breakdowns, margin analysis, and monthly hospital financial statements for the hospital manager and financial controller.
  8. Record all fixed assets purchased for the hospital in the assets’ register or finance system, following due process.
  9. Manage specialist doctors’ payments at the hospital level, in coordination with the hospital accounts team.
  10. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and systems, especially those related to medical service provision.
