Description
We are seeking a Certified Technician (Electrical) to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of our weighbridge IT equipment and electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in IT and computer systems, along with practical experience in weights and measurements. This role is essential in ensuring operational continuity by maintaining and enhancing our weighbridge systems and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Educational
Background:
Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
or related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on
experience as a Technician, preferably with exposure to weights and
measurements.
- Technical
Competency:
Proficiency in computer applications, including troubleshooting and
networking skills for electromechanical systems.
- Integrity
and Compliance:
Must provide a current certificate of good conduct and meet the
requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
- Licensing: Valid Annual Practicing License
from a recognized professional body is required.
Responsibilities
- Equipment
Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance of weighbridge IT equipment and infrastructure
to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Remote
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve hardware and software issues remotely, ensuring
timely interventions to minimize downtime.
- Software
Installation & Upgrades:
Install, upgrade, and monitor software on computer-controlled weighing
systems.
- Calibration
Support: Assist in
the calibration of weighbridge stations to maintain accuracy and
compliance.
- Networking of Systems: Establish and maintain network connections for electromechanical hardware, software, and server systems
- System Calibration & Monitoring: Participate in calibration and monitoring tasks, including mid-range server hardware and electromechanical systems.
