Description
The Business Development Officer will play a critical role in supporting the growth and client acquisition goals of the organization. This role involves managing and converting leads, coordinating the activities of commission-based sales agents, and helping drive adoption of our telephony solutions among SMEs and corporate clients. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, IT, Communications, or related field.
- >3 years experience in sales or business development, preferably in telecom, ICT, or SaaS.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Solid understanding of B2B sales and solution-based selling.
- Proficiency in LinkedIn, CRM tools, and basic reporting.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and follow up on warm sales leads shared by the company to close business opportunities.
- Engage directly with SMEs and corporate prospects to present and pitch telephony solutions (e.g. SIP Trunking, Cloud PBX, 3CX).
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and coordinate contract negotiations.
- Maintain and update client records in the CRM system.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of external commission-based sales agents.
- Track and monitor agent performance and submitted deals to ensure proper follow-through and commission accuracy.
- Provide basic pre-sales support and relay technical requirements to internal technical teams.
- Liaise with telcos, licensing platforms, and software vendors to support delivery of services to clients.
- Produce weekly business development reports and update management on sales progress.
